[Tatami-omote]

Tatami-omote is made by weaving rushes into the warp threads. In Japan, it is called "Goza" of Tatami.
More than 90% of Japanese rushes are produced in Kumamoto Prefecture.

Today, tatami-omote made of woven Japanese paper and coated with resin, or resin-made tatami-omote, is also widely used. They do not fade and are popular for their rich colors.

目積表 Meseki-omote: This is a tatami-omote with finer weave than ordinary omote (引目 Hikime). It is mainly used for edge-less tatami.
It gives a clean and modern impression.

市松表 Ichimatsu-omote: Tatami mat with a checkered pattern of dark and light colors.
The checkered pattern has the meaning of "prosperity" because the pattern continues without interruption. It is an auspicious pattern for the prosperity of descendants and business expansion.

We sell coasters made of various tatami-omote.
